2008 NHL Draft Picks and Trades!
What an exciting day! It’s always a lot of fun to see where some of the hottest up-and-coming players will go and gossip about the trades the teams will make in order to get better draft picks. I will be updating this post periodically to include the latest updates!
Trades
- The Florida Panthers have traded Olli Jokinen to the Phoenix Coyotes in exchange for Keith Ballard and Nick Boynton and the 49th pick.
- Alex Tanguay has been sent to the Montreal Canadiens (I’m so sad)
- The Calgary Flames have acquired Mike Cammalleri
- Chris Mason is going to the St. Louis Blues from Nashville
- The Flyers have sent RJ Umberger to the Columbus Blue Jackets
Top 10 Draft Picks
- Steven Stamkos (C - OHL Sarnia) was chosen first overall by the Tampa Bay Lightning
- The Los Angeles Kings picked Drew Doughty (D - OHL Guelph) second overall
- Zach Bogosian (D - OHL Peterborough) was chosen by the Atlanta Thrashers
- The St. Louis Blues have chosen Alex Pietrangelo (D - OHL Niagara)
- Luke Schenn (D - WHL Kelowna) has been picked by the Toronto Maple Leafs (booed by Ottawa fans, lol)
- Columbus Blue Jackets have picked Nikita Filatov (LW - RUSSIA-3, CSKA 2)
- Colin Wilson (C - H-East Bost. University) has been drafted by the Nashville Predators
- The Phoenix Coyotes have picked Mikkel Boedker (LW - OHL Kitchener)
- NY Islanders have selected Josh Bailey (C - OHL Windsor)
- Cody Hodgson (C - OHL Brampton) has been drafted by the Vancouver Canucks

Boy Vancouver was going to make great strides for this year ,more scoring better players . What a flop they even have lost one of there best players (smart move on his part ) What is wrong with management?
