2008 Stanley Cup Game 1 - Penguins @ Red Wings

by Jeanne on May 26th, 2008

What a disappointment.  As I get ready to watch Game 2 tonight, I’m praying that the Pittsburgh Penguins learned something from the beating they took from the Detroit Red Wings two days ago.  Here’s are the highlights (if you are a Detroit fan - they are low-lights if you’re a a Pens lover).

Bottom line - Wings netminder, Chris Osgood, was just, well that good.  Detroit was physical, aggressive and hungry for the win and one can only hope that Pittsburgh was humbled and rattled by that 4-0 humiliation of a loss and will bring their A game tonight.

Oh, one more thing.  I know a lot of people have said that Pens captain, Sidney Crosby, was not as effective in that first game but when I look back at that footage, I see someone who tried really hard.  I will tell you that I think there was a slacker on the team - goalie, Marc-André Fleury

Can’t wait to see what happens tonight.
