Canadiens Give Goalie Halak 2-Year Deal
I’m pretty thrilled to report that goaltender Jaroslav Halak has been signed
to a two-year, $1.55 million contract with the Montreal Canadiens. Of course, the Habs are pretty famous for being fickle with goalies so I wouldn’t get too comfortable but I think it’s a good sign. I’ve liked Halak since I first saw him and I think he’s a great fit for the club.
The 23-year-old native of Slovakia will enter his third NHL season this fall. He has played in a total of 22 career games in the league, posting a 12-7-1 record, a 2.71 goals-against average and a .913 save percentage.
