Canadiens’ O’Byrne, Kostopolous Arrested
Montreal Canadiens defenceman Ryan O’Byrne and Tom Kostopolous were arrested outside a South Tampa nightclub early Monday!!!!
O’Byrne, 23, was charged with grand theft and Kostopoulos, 29, was charged with resisting an officer without violence
Wow! How ridiculous! Apparently they were at some bar called Whiskey Park and a woman put her purse down on the counter and noticed it was missing. Someone saw O’Byrne outside with the woman’s purse and cellphone in his hands. When the police questioned him, he said the items belonged to his girlfriend but couldn’t think of a name for this alleged girlfriend (lol). He was detained and put in the back of the cop car and things went sour for Kostopolous at this point.
“There were several other hockey players around. One of them was Kostopolous. Police kept telling them all to back up. Everyone did except for Kostopolous,” Davis said.
Kostopoulos was arrested when he refused to obey the police order.
These two geniuses were released this morning after posting bail ($2000 for O’Byrne and $500 for Kostopoulos).
Wow… what self-respecting hockey player wants to get arrested for stealing a purse? Wow! Maybe it’s mean but I thought this was pretty funny…
