I’m such a sucker for good, clean hits. This was a good video and the song is perfect (language advisory to people who are easily offended by profanity). I love it when people flip too and manage not to get hurt. Can you imagine what that looks/feels like from the players’ perspective? Hilarious.

Some of these goals really are smoking hot. Of course, there’s some Ovechkin and Lecavalier but there’s also some Turcotte and Ranheim. I don’t know if it’s the top 10 goals ever but these are pretty awesome.

Here’s a cool collection of plays by both Alexander Ovechkin (Washington Capitals) and Evgeni Malkin (Pittsburgh Penguins). How do you like more and why?

I’m still away on vacation and I will do my own predictions post closer to the start of the season but I found this interesting predictions video on YouTube for the upcoming 2008-2009 NHL season. I don’t think the Pittsburgh Penguins are going to finish first in the Eastern Conference like this guy predicts (I […]

It’s not funny but there is something about a good goalie fight that not only excites me but also just makes me laugh. Maybe it’s all the pads but it’s so much fun to watch (not that I’m advocating fighting, blah blah blah…). Of course, there couldn’t be a collection of these without at least […]

Uhhhhh…. I happened to come across this on YouTube while I was getting stuff ready (like this) to publish while I’m away. This is a commercial for the Phoenix Coyotes where coach, Wayne Gretzky, talking about the checking line with… puppets. Yeah… Do you guys have hockey commercials in your hometown? I don’t think we […]

The guy who put together this video calls them the “20 Best Goals Ever” and while I can’t really say that because I know some are missing, these really are spectacular shots. It took me a few tries to really appreciate #17 but it really was good. I have to admit, the goals really do […]

In NHL 09, the new features were mostly intended to improve defensive play. For example, players can now “stick lift” which means they can lift another players’ stick off the ice. They can also poke check and sweep your stick 360 degrees. There’s also a new checking system, one-handed dekes and more. It comes out […]

Claude Giroux, who is participating in the prospects camp for the Philadelphia Flyers, was interviewed about his experience which was a little interesting, actually. He said that he talked to Daniel Briere who showed him the importance of just being happy to be in training every day.
They also spoke to a few more prospects. […]
