The Montreal Canadiens are in a heated battle with the Philadelphia Flyers in round of the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs but before that, they faced the Boston Bruins. Here is a collection of the best moments from that series.

The Philadelphia Flyers beat the Montreal Canadiens at home at one of my favorite hockey arenas, the Bell Centre during game 2. I think the win shocked the Habs. Montreal goaltender, Carey Price, also voiced his disapproval of Umberger’s second goal which he felt involved a little goalie interference (watch the highlights and judge for […]

The Montreal Canadiens won their first home game of the 2008 Stanley Cup semifinals against the Colorado Avalanche. The Montreal police beefed up security since there was so much rioting after the Habs won an exciting game 7 during the quarterfinals. Fortunately, things were relatively low-key after the 4-3 victory. Here is the scoring summary:
PHI: […]

It’s semifinals time. The 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs has progressed to the next round and I’ve got to say that despite being disappointed by the elimination of some teams, I’m pretty psyched about some of these match ups. Should be an interesting series.
Here’s a look at the schedule:

Woooohoooo!!!! The Montreal Canadiens launched an all out attack on the Boston Bruins in their bid to not only remain in the playoffs but to advance to the next round. Just when it looked like they were going to win this series, the Habs and goalie, Carey Price, showed their imperfection and were nearly eliminated […]

The Montreal Canadiens visited the Boston Bruins for game 6 of the 2008 Stanley Cup Playoffs quarterfinals. I really thought the Canadiens had this series in the bag but the Bruins have come back and forced game 7 (on tonight!). The Bruins won 5-4. Here’s the scoring summary:
MTL: Higgins, C. (09:44 in 1st), Plekanec, T. […]

The NHL has put together these clips from the season for the Montreal Canadiens. To me, their big stories this year have mostly been about goaltending including that controversial trade that sent Cristobal Huet to the Washington Capitals. Aside from this last game, Carey Price has been amazing so I think it’s working out for […]

Carey Price got another shutout for the Montreal Canadiens last night when they visited the Boston Bruins. The long goal of the night was scored by Patrice Brisebois on a power play at 19:18 in the 2nd.
Check out the highlights:

The Montreal Canadiens, my Eastern conference pick, lost in a nicely matched up game last night against the Boston Bruins. The Bruins opened up the scoring in the 1st (Lucic, M. at 6:30) and then the Habs could only score the one time in the second (Kostopoulos, T. at 04:26). Neither team could generate a […]

Go Carey Price! The rookie goaltender won his first-ever Stanley Cup playoffs game tonight when the Montreal Canadiens beat the Boston Bruins 4-1. For the Bruins, Hnidy, S. (08:34) scored in the first but Montreal really dominated that game with two goals by Kostitsyn, S. (00:34 in 1st and 2:02 in 1st) and one each […]
