What is Wrong with the Ottawa Senators?

The Ottawa Senators have been the worst team in the Eastern conference since January 1, 2008 and they just seem like a team that has fallen apart.  They have had problems with goalie Ray Emery, a major coaching change and some trades at the deadline so, really, what isn’t wrong with the team?  I think […]

Ottawa Senators Fire Head Coach

The trade deadline is barely cold and already coaches are getting the boot!  The Ottawa Senators have given head coach, John Paddock, the old heave-ho and GM, Bryan Murray, will step in while continuing his managerial duties.
“It’s shocking really that it comes to this,” Murray said. “It’s disappointing from everybody’s point of view.”
Assistant coach […]

Stillman and Commodore Traded to Sens

I’m sure we’re going to be seeing many more transactions before the trade deadline on February 26, 2008 at 3pm EST.  In the meantime, the Carolina Hurricanes have sent Cory Stillman and Mike Commodore to the Ottawa Senators since the Sens wanted to bolster their number of players with playoff experience, secondary scoring and toughness […]

Ray Emery to Start Against the Leafs Tonight

Well, it’s a start.  Ottawa Senators goalie, Ray Emery, is set to start against the Toronto Maple Leafs tonight.  I know I’ve made it clear that I’m not Emery’s biggest fan but I’m hoping he can redeem himself.  He’s super talented and I would hate to see him blow his career.
After being fined earlier […]

Good Sign For Sens Goalie Ray Emery?

Ray Emery has been getting the wrong kind of press lately (click here and here for some examples) but I’m hoping his latest troubles (however minor to some of you) have given him a wake up call.  After showing up late for practice and the Ottawa Senators officials seeming more and more frustrated, a […]

Sens Goalie Ray Emery in Trouble Again

Ray Emery what are you doing!?!?!  I have an inside source who tells me that Emery has made some friends that are not the greatest of influences and I wonder if that has had anything to do with it.  I’m still hoping things settle down for this guy - he could have such a great […]

2008-2009 NHL Season to Begin in Europe

Ugh.  I may be in the minority but I did not enjoy the games from London for this season’s opener so I’m trying to dig up the enthusiasm to do it all over again next season.
The NHL has announced that the 2008-09 regular season will begin with the Ottawa Senators facing off against the Pittsburgh […]

Jason Spezza Can’t Party with Ray Emery?

This is completely unconfirmed but a source has told me that Ottawa Senators star, Jason Spezza, has been told by team managers that he cannot hang out with Sens goalie, Ray Emery, because Emery has developed some bad habits and has been hanging out with the "wrong crowd."  My source also tells me that […]

Sens Lose Spezza and Heatley to Injuries

On Saturday night, when the Ottawa Senators played the Detroit Red Wings, Dany Heatley suffered a separated shoulder and is expected to miss up to 6 weeks.  He got hurt after he crashed into end boards with Detroit forward Dallas Drake during the second period.
"You take a 50-goal man out of your lineup, other […]
