Philadelphia Flyers @ Atlanta Thrashers - October 28, 2008
WOW. What else can you really say? Well, I guess you can say that, for some reason, the Atlanta Thrashers seem to just fall apart when they have to play against the Philadelphia Flyers… It was a nightmare of a game for any Atlanta fan to […]

Last night, the New Jersey Devils triumphed over the Atlanta Thrashers in a 1-0 victory. They can thank goaltender, Martin Brodeur, for the win - the veteran player notched his 97th career shutout. It’s so early in the season so can you imagine if he were to continue getting shutouts from this point on? I […]

The Atlanta Thrashers have re-signed goaltender Johan Hedberg. The netminder has been given a multi-year contract but the terms of the deal were not disclosed.
During the 2007-2008 season, Hedberg appeared in 36 games, earned a 14-15-3 record, 3.46 goals-against average, a .892 save percentage and one shutout.
I hope this is a good decision […]

The Atlanta Thrashers will not be extending Marian Hossa’s contract before the trade deadline despite the fact that I think he’s freaking awesome. Thrashers GM Don Waddell said: “No, I don’t believe so at this point (when asked if signing Hossa before the trade deadline was a possibility). We’re going to look at all our […]

Oh no! Atlanta Thrashers star, Ilya Kovalchuk, appears to have been injured during his first game since his All-Star weekend appearance (gotta be girly for a second and say that it wasn’t until this weekend that I realized how smokin’ hot he is! Okay, I’m done). Kovalchuk was hurt in the second period in […]

Atlanta Thrashers forward, Ilya Kovalchuk, was suspended for one game without pay after he hit New York Rangers defenseman, Michal Rozsival, from behind.
Kovalchuk was ejected from the game and Rozsival was cut and stayed down for a few minutes. He’ll forfeit $34,224.60 which will go to the money going to the Players’ Emergency Assistance […]

The Atlanta Thrashers were at the Buffalo Sabres last night and Chris Thorburn (Thrashers) and Nolan Pratt (Sabres) dropped gloves in the 2nd period. It was the first of Pratt’s two fights in the game (see below).
The Sabres beat the Thrashers 10-1 - ouch!

The players were obviously emotional at last night’s game when the Atlanta Thrashers visited the Buffalo Sabres. This time, Eric Boulton (Thrashers) dealt a late hit to Jason Pominville (in the 3rd). Nolan Pratt (Sabres) skated on over and bumped Boulton back, presumably to retaliate for his hit to Pominville. Boulton received an instigator, crosschecking, […]

Nice! Mark Recchi, 39, doesn’t have to look into retirement options just yet, lol.
The Atlanta Thrashers have added the veteran player to their lineup. He had been put on waivers by the Pittsburgh Penguins on Friday. I have to admit, I wasn’t sure anyone was going to take him but now the Thrashers can […]
