The New York Islanders have been busy - they hired Scott Gordon as their new head coach and promoted Chris Dey from vice president to team president on Wednesday.
Hiring Gordon is big news since he was named the AHL Coach of the Year after compiling a 55-18-3 record with the Providence Bruins.  He’s gonna […]

NHL 2008 Pre-season Schedule

The National Hockey League has released the schedule for their 2008-09 pre-season games.  The 110-match schedule runs from Saturday, September 20 through Monday, October 6, 2008.  Five of the games will be played in four European cities.  I am really interested in how those are going to play out.  I didn’t particularly like having […]

I’m still away on vacation and I will do my own predictions post closer to the start of the season but I found this interesting predictions video on YouTube for the upcoming 2008-2009 NHL season.  I don’t think the Pittsburgh Penguins are going to finish first in the Eastern Conference like this guy predicts (I […]

Looks like the Ottawa Senators didn’t want to risk losing forward, Antoine Vermette (there were some rumblings about the Vancouver Canucks showing some interest) and have re-signed him to a two-year contract worth $5.525 million.
He had a great season last year and enjoyed career highs with 24 goals and 29 assists.  He also had […]
