NHL Hockey Scores - October 10, 2008

It was another wild night last night!  There were several high-scoring games but I think the most intense matchup was between the Columbus Blue Jackets and the Dallas Stars.  I think this is further proof that some of the trades Columbus has made just might make them real contenders this year.  I was happy […]

Leclaire Inks 3-Year Contract with Columbus

Pascal Leclaire is staying put - he has agreed to remain with the Columbus Blue Jackets for another three years after signing an $11.4 million contract extension.
”We’re very happy to have signed Pascal to a new contract that will keep him with the Blue Jackets for the next three seasons,” general manager Scott Howson said. […]

Huselius Leaves Flames for Blue Jackets

Kristian Huselius has traded one “c” for another - he’s gone from Calgary to Columbus.  I think this is a good thing for Juice who, for whatever reason, seems to lose his edge and ability to play right around the time his team needs him the most.  For these past few seasons with the […]

Ruutu vs. Hainsey - Hockey Fight Video

The Chicago Blackhawks were at the Columbus Blue Jackets last night and Tuomo Ruutu and Ron Hainsey tangled in the 1st period.  I was happy to see that Hainsey got a little more aggressive than usual but my gosh - that officiator really patted Ruutu’s little bum bum, eh?  Gave me the willies, lol.
The fight […]

San Jose Sharks Acquire Jody Shelley

The San Jose Sharks have acquired left wing Jody Shelley from the Columbus Blue Jackets in exchange for a sixth round selection in the 2009 NHL Entry Draft.  I wonder if he’ll be in the lineup tonight.  I’m going to see the Sharks vs. the Calgary Flames game tonight at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
“Jody Shelley is […]

Video: Foote vs. Tootoo Hockey Fight

During the first period of the Columbus Blue Jackets at the Nashville Predators game on December 27, 2007, Adam Foote (CBJ) and Jordin Tootoo (NSH) went at it.  Foote got an instigator and misconduct penalty.
Here’s the video:

Shelley vs Cowan - November 29, 2007

Jody Shelley (Columbus Blue Jackets) vs Jeff Cowan (Vancouver Canucks) from the Blue Jackets at Canucks game on Nov 29, 2007.
I just gotta say that I think Shelley’s parents must have hated him because that’s a terrible name for a guy.  I mean, he doesn’t just have a girl’s name for a first name but […]

Voros Says Goodnight to Novotny

Ouch!  The Columbus Blue Jackets were at the Minnesota Wild on Friday night and, on his way out of the penalty box, Aaron Voros decided to knock the wind out of Jiri Novotny.  It was almost lights out!  It’s a clean hit from what I could tell but it was a little funny how Voros […]

St Louis Blues @ Columbus Blue Jackets - October 25, 2007

I know it’s mean but I can’t help but think these two teams stink but the Columbus Blue Jackets are really pulling it together this season. They blanked the St Louis Blues tonight in a relatively interesting game.
Oh my gawd - do they shoot a cannon every time Columbus scores? I’ve never seen […]

Biron and Leclaire - Early Shutout Sucesses

Goalies Martin Biron and Pascal Leclaire are doing very well so far this season.
When the New Jersey Devils met the Philadelphia Flyers on October 18th, Biron made 38 saves in his second straight shutout.

On the verge of stopping every puck for the second straight game, Martin Biron instead was concerned about the one that might […]
