As a Calgary Flames fan, it was an emotional roller coaster of a game last night. I have to admit that, I’m not feeling good and we had guests, so I wasn’t thinking much at the beginning of the game but they really shouldn’t have started goaltender Miikka Kiprusoff last night. He had already been […]

GEEZUM! The first period of this game was spectacular. The Calgary Flames and the San Jose Sharks were toe-to-toe and then the second period happened. HOLY SH*T. That was the worst!
The officiators called a couple iffy penalties against Calgary and then the Flames just started playing like they had lost their minds. The worst moment […]

Oh, it hurts. It hurts so bad. The Calgary Flames were thisclose to taking the Northwest Division title and then Marian Gaborik and the Minnesota Wild turned on the magic. Daymond Langkow scored the lone goal for the Flames during the first which was promptly answered by Todd Fedoruk. Gaborik went on to score twice.

Ouch. Honestly, I’m a Calgary Flames fan and there’s the whole “Battle of Alberta” rivalry but my heart broken (a little) for the Edmonton Oilers when the Flames beat them 3-2 and ended their hopes of making the playoffs. The final blow was dealt when Owen Nolan scored the game-winning goal with 3:44 remaining.

Calgary Flames captain, Jarome Iginla, broke Theoren Fleury’s franchise goal scoring record. Last night at 18:27 into the Flames’ 7-3 win over the St. Louis Blues at the Pengrowth Saddledome, Iggy got his 365th career goal when he one-timed a feed from Kristian Huselius past Manny Legace (who was pulled).
”I was definitely happy to get […]

Dion Phaneuf (Calgary Flames) knocked down Corey Perry (Anaheim Ducks) and it stirred up Todd Bertuzzi (Ducks). They dropped gloves/visors and had an exciting little scrap - I love Phaneuf and I’m kinda happy to see Big Bert in action again. I’m not a fan of his body slam move there at the end, though…

FINALLY!!!! Calgary Flames netminder, Miikka Kiprusoff, posted his first shutout last night against the Detroit Red Wings! Kipper blanked the Wings in his 59th start, turning aside 38 shots to help the Flames beat win 1-0 (and earned him a place as the #1 Star in the NHL overnight).
“It feels good,” said the […]

The Calgary Flames have acquired defenceman James Vandermeer from the Philadelphia Flyers for a third-round draft pick in 2009.
So far this season, he has three goals, 15 assists and 71 penalty minutes in 54 games this season with the Chicago Blackhawks and the Flyers. In all of his 246 career games he only has […]

Calgary Flames tough guy, Dion Phaneuf, went at it with Shane Doan (Phoenix Coyotes) two nights ago when the Coyotes hosted the Flames. IT was a close one…
