The Philadelphia Flyers have gotten some bad news:  their all-star defenseman Kimmo Timonen has been sidelined indefinitely with a blood clot in his left foot.  The Flyers meet the Pittsburgh Penguins tonight for Game 1 of the Eastern Conference Finals.

Flyers Thoresen Released From Hospital

Philadelphia Flyers left wing Patrick Thoresen was released from the hospital Saturday after tests revealed no serious injury from a shot that hit him in the groin.  Yeah, in the groin!  On Friday night when the Flyers were defeated by the Washington Capitals, Thoresen dove to block Mike Green’s shot on goal in the third […]

Season Ends for Leafs Captain Mats Sundin

Toronto Maple Leafs captain, Mats Sundin, will not be playing in the team’s last two two games of this season.  It’s almost merciful when you look at how bad things have been for this hockey club.  Sundin suffered a groin tear

Sundin, 37, has stated that he hasn’t made any decision on his future but has […]

Richard Zednik Talks About His Injury - Video

Richard Zednik talked about his horrific injury and what his life has been like since it happened.  This interviewer really dug in with these questions.  It was a little uncomfortable for me even!  LOL.  He even asked if he and Olli Jokinen had talked about the incident… yikes… kinda personal, don’t you think?

Sidney Crosby To Return on Thursday

Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, is set to return to the line up on Thursday when his team visits the New York Islanders.  Crosby has been out for 27 of the last 30 games with ankle issues and, I’m sorry, but I think he needs to stay out a little longer.  The Pens have made […]

DiPietro To Get MRI Results on Wednesday

*sigh* Didn’t Rick DiPietro have all kinds of physical problems right before the playoffs last year?  Honestly, correct me if I’m mistaken because I’m not saying it in a mean way but I think I remember him missing some games for a concussion, then headaches and then… “all over body achyness.”  I distinctly remember that […]

Chris Pronger Suspension Coming?

Oh, I hope so and I’m not making any apologies for my opinion.  On Wednesday night, Chris Pronger of the Anaheim Ducks stomped on Ryan Kesler’s (Vancouver Canucks) leg.  It’s not even that different from what Chris Simon did to Jarkko Ruutu (see video here).  So, the league is looking at suspending him and he’s […]

Malarchuck and Zednik - Should Neck Guards Be Mandatory?

So many of you were reminded of goalie Clint Malarchuck’s horrific accident when Richard Zednik was hurt a couple weeks ago.  Both had their throats slashed by a skate blade and, again, it makes me wonder if neck guards should be made mandatory.  It’s kind of like the old helmet debate and, I’m sorry, I’m […]
