Forsberg Signs With the Colorado Avalanche
Peter Forsberg has signed a one-year contract with the Colorado Avalanche, the team where he spent nine seasons in Colorado from 1995-2004 and won the Stanley Cup with the Avalanche in 1996 and 2001.
I’m not a big fan of Forsberg who, after becoming an unrestricted free agent, hadn’t played hockey all season because of his long-running foot and ankle problems.
"I wasn’t sure (a week ago) that I was going to come back and I wanted to take an extra week," Forsberg said on a conference call from Sweden. "I just feel comfortable going back there (to Colorado) and try to help the team make the playoffs and go as far as we can go.”
The Avs are 10th in the Western Conference.

I for one am happy to see a natural goal scorer and top notch player come back to the league! He will most certainly help The Avs, but what is going on in Colorado? Is it nostalgia trade day? Foote, Blake, and Forsberg…I guess it’s good to sometimes go with what you know.

Fair enough, Jason. Still don’t like Forsberg but am totally willing to admit he’s a natural scorer. It’s true, though. It’s like nostalgia city over in Colorado, lol.

But, honestly if he is having so many ankle and foot problems, should he really be signing a contract? It’s unpredictable whether or not his injuries will start acting up again.
