Just as many other teams are locking up their players, the Toronto Maple Leafs seem to be cleaning house.
It’s been announced that the club has put forward, Kyle Wellwood, and goaltender, Andrew Raycroft, on NHL waivers which, of course, could lead to their exit from the team.
Both players underperformed during the 2007-2008 season. Wellwood recorded a mere 21 points (8 goals, 13 assists) in the 59 games that he played. He ended the year with a minus -12 rating.
Raycroft didn’t fare any better and appeared in only 19 games, going 2-9-5 with a 3.92 goal-against average and .876 save per centage while earning $2 million. He has one year left on his contract.
More news about their future with the Leafs is expected today.
