Raffi Torres Fined $2500 by NHL
Ask me if I’m shocked by the fact that Raffi Torres of the Edmonton Oilers has been issued a $2,500 USD fine by the NHL after a questionable hit on David Moss of the Calgary Flames.
Moss suffered a concussion when blindsided by Torres 12:22 into the second period of Saturday’s 4-1 victory over the visiting Oilers at the Pengrowth Saddledome.
Torres was penalized for tripping, but league officials later reviewed the play and fined him $2,500 US — the maximum allowed under the collective bargaining agreement.
I doubt this huge sum of money (Torres probably spent more on his last television set) is going to deter a player like Torres but I digress…
