Sidney Crosby To Return on Thursday

by Jeanne on March 27th, 2008

Pittsburgh Penguins captain, Sidney Crosby, is set to return to the line up on Thursday when his team visits the New York Islanders.  Crosby has been out for 27 of the last 30 games with ankle issues and, I’m sorry, but I think he needs to stay out a little longer.  The Pens have made the playoffs and another early return for him could be worse than him waiting until he’s 100%.  I just worry that he will come back too soon and aggravate the injury.

“I am playing. My ankle feels great and my conditioning is as good as it can get, really, without playing. It always takes a few games, but I feel good,” Crosby told the Penguins official website.

“I feel confident. I think it’s one of those things that will come down to luck, but I feel strong,” he said. “I feel a lot better than I did coming back the first time. I am more confident and that’s big.”

Well, if that’s how he feels then, good luck, Sid!
