Wild’s Foster Leaves Ice on Stretcher

by Jeanne on March 20th, 2008

Minnesota Wild defenseman Kurtis Foster left the ice at the Shark Tank on a stretcher last night after running into the boards face first in a collision with San Jose Sharks rookie Torrey Mitchell.  Foster remained on the ice for 12 minutes before medical personnel put a splint on his leg and strapped him to a backboard.  Mitchell got only a two-minute penalty for tripping, which outraged Minnesota coach Jacques Lemaire.

All I know is that he was moving his head and was able to shake hands with Jeremy Roenick (Sharks).  No details have been given about his leg injury.
