Wings Own Penguins Again in Game 2
What the heck?!?!? I would be lying if I said that I wasn’t expecting the Pittsburgh Penguins to bounce back from that horrible first game in this series and practically every sports analyst was salivating over the prospect of Sidney Crosby would somehow repeat history and follow in the footsteps of Wayne Gretzky and manage to miraculously save his team from further embarrassment.
Well, Sid the Kid and his Pens got their asses kicked again tonight and I cannot even begin to understand what is going on. Yes, the Detroit Red Wings are experienced and, well, amazing this year but the last two games have looked like something you would expect from some horrible hockey movie where one team totally dominates the other in an unrealistic scene at the end. The Pens were low-energy and downtrodden and lost miserably again in ANOTHER shutout.
Is this really how Crosby’s first trip to the finals is going to end? Will he be swept away in a meagre four games by the Wings and possibly even remain scoreless? It’s starting to look like a possibility and that is just plain sad. I had some real expectations for this match-up and right now, it looks like the young Penguins don’t know how to play with the big boys…
Final score: 3-0 for Detroit.

Well, it certainly does seem bleak for the Penguins, but teams have come back from worse after the first two games of a final…I’ll reference the Oilers a couple of years ago for that one, although they had a lot of experienced players to help temper the youth on their team.
At this point, the veterans on the Pens really have to get things under control. The team not only played poorly, but the last 10 minutes of game two is a performance not even worthy of the lowliest franchies in the NHL…they totally came apart at the seams.

Yeah, judging by the run-on sentences and typos, I must have written that with lots of emotion under my cap.
Here’s hoping tonight’s game goes a little better. I really want the Pens to come out swinging…
